He was trying to run in the house so he wouldn't get wet. I thought it was you who got him the second time with a cup instead of the bucket. At any rate, it was a lot of fun!Colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13736724176184374813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2090093430874627833.post-1610973024299184282008-02-07T17:40:00.000-08:002008-02-07T17:40:00.000-08:00Just for the record, I didn't actually "get" Daddy...Just for the record, I didn't actually "get" Daddy with the bucket o' water. It was aimed perfectly, and it would have been a perfect shot, EXCEPT that he smacked the bucket back at me and I got it instead. Good thing I was already wet.Adenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00528767791216211519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2090093430874627833.post-64121822285567118502008-02-06T19:37:00.000-08:002008-02-06T19:37:00.000-08:00Man, I thought I had problems! I remember going for her very first parent-teacher conference and her teacher saying that she was doing better, she wasn't beating up the boys as much! It was the first I had heard about it and I got mad at her teacher for not telling me so I could address it, and I got mad at Adena initially because I don't condone fighting of any sort, but she had a good reason - sort of. She was beating up the boys who had been picking on some of the smaller girls, so it was hard to get really mad at her.

And here's one for Anna. I remember finding a rabbit under my car and bringing it in and taking care of it, only to find out it was a pregnant female and we soon had 3 baby rabbits as well as the mother. And Anna was truly fascinated by the babies. She kept poking at them in the cage till the mother finally bit her! I was afraid she might get rabies and it really was a deep cut, so I took her to the ER, but I think the rabbit was actually an escaped pet and probably didn't have rabies. Anyway, Anna was fine - except for the finger.

More good times! :)Colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13736724176184374813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2090093430874627833.post-51534179233868925862008-02-06T15:24:00.000-08:002008-02-06T15:24:00.000-08:00I remember all of those (the true ones, at least!)...I remember all of those (the true ones, at least!). I can't imagine why you would remember what happened to someone else unless it impacted you, so it's not really sad; it's just life.

I remember the clown; it was at a birthday party at Miss Debbie's house. He really made me mad with the stunt he pulled on you. I thought it was pretty cool that you were figuring out all of his tricks. I remember the alligator, too, but I got mad because you were poking at him and then were surprised when he bit you! Duh! I remember the radio incident, too; hence the radio rule! I remember the pot-bellied pig and I remember the incident with the cop pulling you over after curfew. Caryn was so upset at the time and all Shannon could do was laugh!

But it makes me think about what I recall from my childhood. I do remember Nora pushing my buttons when I was about 9 or 10, to see if she could make me mad. We were playing some game, which I lost, and she kept poking at me and laughing and saying, "You lose!" over and over and over again. I finally got mad and pinned her down and beat her, but she just kept laughing. Fortunately, I wasn't strong enough to do any damage and it didn't seem to phase her at all. It was a dumb thing to get mad at, but I did.

I'm sure I could come up with a whole lot more, but many of them are unpleasant, so I won't. At any rate, it's more fun to 'listen' to you all banter about your memories.

Oh, and here's one for you. I remember it pouring rain and Caryn and Shannon were outside sitting on top of the swingset and I made them come in. Then they went out in the front in the rain. I told them to come in, but their argument that there was no lightning so it wasn't unsafe was valid, so we all went out and had a water fight in the rain. That was when Caryn doused Rick from across the street and Adena got Daddy because I locked him out of the house.

Good times!Colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13736724176184374813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2090093430874627833.post-54922974679156593782008-02-06T14:17:00.000-08:002008-02-06T14:17:00.000-08:00I don't think that you ever drove me home from Bru...I don't think that you ever drove me home from Bruner, Caryn. You were in college at that point. See, I walked home from Bruner...uphill both ways...IN THE SNOW!! Okay, I thought I would try to make my story more interesting, too, but, uh, it didn't work. *shrug*Anna Farleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02147127256195797450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2090093430874627833.post-42288542563126007752008-02-06T13:43:00.000-08:002008-02-06T13:43:00.000-08:00from home, that is.from home, that is.Carynannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09136066704148676203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2090093430874627833.post-61027286342307729842008-02-06T13:42:00.000-08:002008-02-06T13:42:00.000-08:00Yes! Crystal Wise's pet pot-bellied pig (yeah) bit me on the ankle and I wouldn't put my feet on the ground while I was there anymore, I would run to the couch and pull my feet up.

And you got in trouble for kicking me out, hehe (even though I think you almost got in an accident while we were battling for control of the radio). That was when the "whoever's driving picks the music" rule was instituted.

And I remember a certain evening when Caryn and I were driving home, after 11 (the wierd curfew they made for 16 yr olds), she was speeding, didn't have her license, and was pulled over. Somehow she didn't get a ticket (because she cried, that's how) and the cop asked me if I would be able to drive home. I was only 15, it was such an ego boost for me.Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09816344812911835401noreply@blogger.com
